30-Day Challenge

One of my daughters is starting a 365-day challenge of taking one picture a day. She is an amazing photographer and for a little while this gift was squashed out of her. I am thrilled beyond words that she has taken this challenge upon herself. Her doing this has inspired me to challenge myself. Not for 365 days, mind you; but maybe for 30-days. Today is September 1, so it seems a good day to start.

I am challenging myself to blog something everyday of September. Let’s see how many days I actually do this. I am sure if I do make the 30-days, there will be some days that I just write, “I am writing in my blog today.” Maybe write that five times, kinda like writing sentences in school.

I usually post a quote each day on my Facebook page. Today’s quote was, "The things you are passionate about are not random. They are your calling." I often think I don’t have a passion or a calling. But, maybe I do. I am encourager. I am passionate about helping people see their potential. I get frustrated when people continually put themselves down. Sad thing is, I forget to encourage myself a lot. I often work myself so hard because I feel what I do is never good enough. I know that this stems from my past; but my past does not (or should not) control who I am now. Relaxing is difficult for me, as is enjoying myself.

So, I am hoping that through this 30-day blogging challenge, that I learn to slow down; look at what I do each day; and do a lot of thinking. Much of what I will be writing will just be random thoughts. Or I may write about the exciting things I do during the day such as mowing the yard or scooping out dog food, which is what I did today.

If you are interested, come along with me this month. Maybe you will be inspired to challenge yourself to something new.

See ya tomorrow.
